I'm sorry, what? This (and those of the same ilk) is one of the most ridiculous and ignorant assertions doing the rounds at the moment.

I look at websites for a variety of reasons; because I want to buy the product or service (either for myself or someone else), for design inspiration or just pure curiosity. I'm free to walk into any shop on the high street without reason or invitation so why should the Web be different? I'm not always part of the target audience but that doesn't mean I should be excluded, certainly not because of a disability.

"My car accessory website doesn't need to be accessible because blind people can't drive". Right, and blind people don't buy Birthday and Christmas presents for friends and family, do they?

If you're discriminating against users in this way, firstly, *slap*. Secondly, I would point out that you are promoting an extremely negative image and needlessly restricting your market as an added bonus.
