Top TV Adverts
Often more entertaining than the programmes they interrupt, I present a short list of my favourite television adverts.
Posted 25 Aug 2007, early afternoon.
Tagged with adverts, favourites.
Inspired by Veerle's article about Coca-Cola's 'Happiness Factory', I decided to put together a list of some of my favourite TV ads.
Guinness "Evolution"
Pure genius. Three mates are transported back through the evolutionary chain, starting with a refreshing pint of Guinness in the pub and ending up as mudskippers slurping water from a puddle.
Coca-Cola "Happiness Factory"
The first of two Coca-Cola adverts on my list, this is an award winning animation made by Wieden + Kennedy and Psyop, depicting the magical world inside a vending machine. Be sure to check out the new movie version.
Honda "Orpington"
I obviously had to include this ad, considering it was filmed in my home town of Orpington. And yes, it really is this exciting!
Coca-Cola "Holidays are coming"
You know it's Christmas when you see the Coca-Cola trucks. This is the full-length version which is rarely seen on TV (at least, not in the UK).
Honda "Cog"
A very famous and often parodied advert, again produced by Wieden+Kennedy. It uses a series of car components to create an impressive domino effect.
Sony Bravia "Bouncy Balls"
Yep, they really did release 250,000 bouncy rubber balls at the top of a typically steep San Francisco street.
Mountain Dew "Steven Segal"
Action hero and martial artist Steven Segal accidentally foils a robbery.
Volkswagen Golf "Singing in the Rain"
Features Gene Kelly (or at least, his CGI face) break dancing and somersaulting to Mint Royale's remix.
Honda "ASIMO Museum"
Lastly, another entry from Honda. I love ASIMO. Of course, the ad is largely scripted, but it's still cool to see our little robot friend having a wander.
