On holiday in the flat
At least I don't have to brave Terminal 5.

So, today is the first day of my holiday. As someone who hasn’t been travelling for around 10 years, has never been on a plane and whose most exotic experience was a daytrip to Belgium on a bus, you can imagine that my ‘holidays’ are somewhat unremarkable.
The main feature this week is a delivery of flat-pack furniture from IKEA. At least I will finally have a desk to sit at and somewhere to hang my clothes! Having said that, my bed is still only 70% assembled so I wouldn’t be surprised if there are still bits of wood leaning against walls in a few weeks.
Apart from the inevitably excessive amounts of daytime telly, music, beer, xbox, junkfood and sleep, other highlights include more deliveries (Sainsbury’s, Argos and Amazon), a trip to my Mum’s to catch up with my Sky+ recordings (cheeky, I know) and I may even have a visit from a sparky to investigate why I receive an electric shock whenever I touch a metal surface in my kitchen. Oh, and just in case I’ve got time to spare, I’ve got project work to finish and email in to the office.
I don’t think I stand much chance of getting a tan.
It’s not as if I don’t have an excuse to go travelling - I have family in both Australia and Canada for a start. I’ve got a long list of places I want to see and things I want to do - I’ve just not had the opportunity or thinking-space to make it happen.
Perhaps I should start putting some plans together.
