Hello, 2009
Last Year
So, here we are at the beginning of another year. I will miss 2008; it passed ridiculously quickly and yet still managed to poke a lot of change and adventure in my direction, not least my successful (if somewhat inept) move out of the family home.
I met some really cool new people and caught up with some faces from way back in the day. I laughed and I cried and I laughed some more; I wondered if I was going about things the right way. I read lots of books and asked lots of questions. I drank and I danced and I promised I’d never do it again. And I did. And I had fun!
This Year
This time last year, I drafted an optimistically extensive list of things I wanted to achieve over the following 12 months. And, well, I did manage a couple (I'm still working on the date with Hayden Panettiere). This year, I’m going to keep all those ideas in the back of my mind and simply put the following down on paper with you, dear reader, as my witness.
In 2009, I will stay ambitious, stay inquisitive, stay creative; be older, be bolder, be wise; keep the peace, keep the dream, keep moving on; make lots of mistakes, make lots of friends; laugh, cry, learn; write more, design more, spend less. Get ready for 2010.
Happy new year, everyone.
